I have 2 children in elementary school. Emma is my child who will eat absolutely anything so she rarely packs her lunch.  Andrew, on the other hand, is the pickiest eater I have ever seen and packs nearly every day. At the beginning of the year we bought some plastic sandwich holders to minimize the use of bags but still used so many on other things such as fruit and carrot sticks, snacks, etc.  I cringe at how many plastic bags we have used since he started kindergarten! (He is now in 2nd grade!)  This is why I love the idea of snackTAXIs!

 snackTAXIs are re-useable, washable sandwich and snack sacks! They were created in 2003 and are made in a home-based workshop by local sewers.  We were sent one each of the small and large sized sacks as well as one of their adorable napkins.  They come in fun prints for both boys and girls and velcro shut. You can either wash them by hand or in the washing machine.  I'm looking forward to using them in my diaper bag when my little guy gets a little bigger!

We liked these better than the plastic sandwich holders too because they take up less room! 

The best part about them though is that they are EARTH FRIENDLY!  By using the snackTAXIs, we are saving the landfills from getting filled up with our countless plastic baggies.
