Cloth Diaper Review/Giveaway from Pooters! A+++ ENDED

Winner # 28. Independent Mami!

Cloth diapering has been an adventure for us!  Having never done it with any of our other children, I was really excited to try it this time with our new baby. We have tried so many kinds now and we have found some that work and some that don't be we still haven't found a diaper that I would say I LOVE!  Well, at least I didn't until I was introducted to Pooters!

First of all, before I talk about the diapers I received to review, let me tell you the best part about Pooters. It has to be their awesome customer service!!  From the first time I spoke to Maj from Pooters, I was so impressed and so very thankful that I was able to talk to her!  She has been a lifeline for me and has given me the best advice and tips on cloth diapering!  Boys are a lot different when it comes to diapering and I was having the hardest time with Aiden soaking out the top of his diapers.  Here is the great advice I received from her!  I made it a different color so you would know these are her words, not mine!  She is definitely the expert here!

1. For daytime naps try turning his little 'fire hydrant' down when putting on the diaper. This helps with making the pee go down into the diaper, versus up and out.

2. Try diapers with elastic in the front.  The elastic in the front eliminates that little gap that you sometimes get in the front no matter how snug the diaper is. This will also help to keep pee in its place.

3. For nighttime I recommended a hemp or bamboo fitted diaper with a fleece or wool cover.

In my experience pockets and all in ones aren't the best for holding leaks - particularly at night, long durations and particularly for boys. I have yet to find one that will work for my son and I've gone through at least 20 brands. The best, bullet-proof solution seems to be fitted diapers with a cover. For nighttime, my favorite of course is my Pooters Hemp fitted because hemp is so ridiculously absorbent. It also has a snap in doubler that I fold over in the front for added absorbency where he wets the most. I will warn you that a fleece cover over this diaper will make it bulky but it's a cheap, bullet-proof combo. A wool cover would make for a trimmer fit, but a bit more expensive (around $25).

Here's a link on my website for other brand names that mom's recommend for fitted diapers and covers.

http://www.pootersdiapers.com/nighttime-cloth-diapers/

4. For the daytime, I use pocket diapers but stuff them with hemp or bamboo inserts. Fleece inserts work okay for my son, but hemp and bamboo are just naturally more absorbent and they always do a good job of holding moisture and for longer periods of time if necessary.

5. Create an account with DiaperSwappers.com. You can buy and sell new and used diapers here between other moms.

What awesome advice!  I want to thank Maj for giving me the great advice. This is one of the reasons why I prefer to purchase products from a company like Pooters. The Customer Service is just awesome!   Now, on to their products! Pooters sent me the following products to review:

1. Pooters Hemp Fitted diaper

2. Pooters Bamboo Fitted diaper

3. Pooters Bamboo pocket diaper

4. Extra Pooters Bamboo Insert

These diapers are truly awesome!!!  They were an awesome fit and we didn't have any problems at all with leaking or anything, not even during long naps or bedtime.  Aside from being absolutely adorable, they really did keep our baby nice and dry!  The Bamboo Pocket Diapers are available in some really adorable colors! We received the blue on and it is so cute on our little guy! The other awesome thing is that they are seriously affordable!  You can buy the Pooters Fitted Diaper for just $12. Most of the inserts you need are only $3 each and the Pocket Diapers are just around $20 each.  This is definitely money well spent!!!  With all my heart I say you would definitely be CRAZY not to try Pooters cloth diapers out if you are interested in cloth diapering!!

  66. Definitely an extra absorbency area in the front of the diaper and maybe elastic across the front of the diaper to make the "seal" at the front a little better to prevent leaking out the top of the diaper

  78. Hmmm, as a mom of a boy (in cloth), I would say more an extra layer or two of absorbency in the front, where they pee the most. My guy is tall and solid (not skinny, not chunky)...so maybe a higher rise as well. Thanks!
