Sarah's Famous Banana Pudding

Sarah's FAMOUS Banana Pudding

Need a quick and easy dessert idea to take along to your next cookout?  Try my tried and true, easy recipe for Banana Pudding! This is my signature dish...everywhere we go, everyone always looks for "Sarah's Banana Pudding!"  One bowl of it actually sold for nearly $50 once in a food auction.  It's so easy to make and so yummy too!  You can make this up to an hour or two before you are going to eat it but I wouldn't prepare it any sooner than that...the cookies get too mushy!

What you need:

2 Large boxes of instant VANILLA pudding (We use the fat free/sugar free variety! Tastes just the same)
Milk (For mixing the Pudding)
1 Large tub of Cool Whip
1 box of Vanilla Wafers (The mini colored one's are fun!)
5-6 Ripe Bananas

What you do:
Prepare pudding as directed on package

Mix half the tub of Cool Whip directly into the pudding after it's made (This is a step most don't do and it makes a HUGE difference in the taste and texture of the pudding. YUMMY!)

Spoon enough of the pudding mixture into your bowl to cover the bottom

Layer Vanilla Wafers on top of the pudding in the bowl

Layer sliced bananas on top of the vanilla wafers in the bowl

Continue layering the bowl in this order until you are out of pudding (Pudding, cookies, bananas, pudding, cookies, bananas, etc.)

Spoon the remainder of the Cool Whip on top and use leftover cookies and bananas to decorate!

So easy and oh-so-yummy.

  2. Banana Pudding is my favorite!!!

If you want an extra special treat try replacing the milk with 2 (14oz) cans of sweetened condensed milk (we use fat free and can't tell the difference) and 3 cups of cold water. Just whisk it all together with the pudding mix then fold in the whipped cream. Your family will love you for it ;)
