We drink a lot of water here at the Crazy House, especially in the Summer. The drinking water here where we live comes from a lake where the water quality has always been in question so we only drink bottled water which gets really expensive! When Zuvo contacted me about doing a review of their Water Purator, I couldn't wait for it to get here so we could hook it up and start getting good water from the tap again!!
We received the Above Counter Water Purator and I was really impressed with how easy it was to hook up! Within just a few minutes we had it hooked up, flushed and ready to use.
I read a lot about the Zuvo Water Purator before we used it so I could understand exactly how it purifies the water. It uses a 5-step patented process that includes:
Step 1: Ozonation
In nature, ozone is generated by lightning and cleans the air where rainwater forms. The Zuvo Water Purator mixes ozone with incoming tap water to treat taste and odor contaminants and improve taste. Like chlorine, ozone is a powerful oxidizer. Unlike chlorine, ozone leaves no chemical residue.
Step 2: Ultraviolet Light
The ozone saturated water is flooded with high-intensity UV light - the same as the solar energy that cleans water in the upper atmosphere.
Step 3: Photo-oxidation
The Zuvo Water Purator combines UV and ozone in a patented process known as photo-oxidation which releases powerful oxidizers to further treat the water.
Step 4: filtration with lead removal
Pure spring water is created by passing through fine particles in the earth. Zuvo uses the same principle by passing water through a Class 1 Particulate Reduction Filter, reducing chlorine taste and odor, lead, and tiny particulates.
Step 5: post-filtration UV
The filtered water is again exposed to high-intensity UV light as it leaves the Zuvo Water Purator, ensuring that you get clean, healthy, great tasting water...just the way nature intended!
The best part about the Zuvo Water Purator is that it has made my kids excited about drinking water! They love watching the water in the Purator and I don't mind them helping themselves and drinking all of the water they want! Not only am I excited about this, but I am also excited about the money we are going to save and the waste we are going to eliminate by not having plastic water bottles in the house. During the school year, my kids typically take bottled water to school every day but this year they will be taking a re-useable water bottle full of water from home! The Crazy House has made a vow that it will no longer contribute to the billions of plastic bottles going into the landfills. Will you?
Zuvo is going to give one of you a Water Purator of your own! (A $299 value!)
