Now that our little man is 7 months old, we have been preparing our house for the next stage of his life.....motor skills!!! We couldn't have done it at a better time because over the past week, he started to crawl! If there is one thing that we have learned, it is the importance of a good quality Baby Gate and I couldn't have picked a better one than the one we received from Summer Infant!!
About the Sure&Secure® Extra Tall Walk-Thru Gate:
Keep babies, toddlers and even pets safe and secure with this extra tall walk through gate. This easy-to-install, pressure mounted gate swings open for adults to walk through (no more climbing over) and swings closed and locks automatically. A childcare must.
•Pressure mounted
•36" tall
•Simple one-handed operation
•Door swings closed and locks automatically
•Fits doorways 28" to 47.5"
•Includes one 5" and one 10" extension
•Great room barrier for pets
•Non-toxic metal
You can see the doorway between our living room and dining room isn't that wide so we mounted the gate without the extension but we plan to purchase another of these for a wider doorway in our home and my husband said we could install the extensions very easily!
You can see the doorway between our living room and dining room isn't that wide so we mounted the gate without the extension but we plan to purchase another of these for a wider doorway in our home and my husband said we could install the extensions very easily!
The gate is really easy to open for adults but not for children! You simply slide this over, lift and push the door open. I love that it is simple enough for me to open with one hand for when I am doing stuff like carrying a laundry basket. It actually took a day or two for the older kids to learn to open it so I have full confidence that even when our baby gets bigger, there is no way he will be able to open the gate.
I really love the height of the gate too! This gate is a great investment if you want it to last a long time because your baby will not outgrow this gate!!
What we think:
This is truly an awesome baby gate! I hate the typical baby gate that you have to climb over and put back up 100 times a day. With the Summer Sure & Secure, I don't have that problem! No more climbing over and knocking down the baby gate in this Crazy House! I love how easy the gate mounted in our doorway and how simple the door in the middle is to open and close. This is definitely a MUST HAVE and since September is Baby Safety Month, what better time to buy one of these great products that is going to help make your life a little bit easier!
We have always been huge fans of Summer Infant! Our baby's first swaddle was the Swaddle Me and I would LOVE to have one of their new Handheld Monitors!
Be sure to check out all of their awesome products on their Website!!

This is EXACTLY what we need for our playroom! I have my sewing/craft area in the playroom and I'd love to have a gate that can keep the kids out, but let me open and close to get in! We try to keep the kids safe by covering all sharp corners, keeping heavy items on lower shelves, putting covers over all of the outlets, tying up all window blind cords and keeping kid-proof handles on the outside doorhandles....and more...it takes so much to keep kiddos safe! :) (And they usually still find a way to get hurt!)
Thanks for a great giveaway!

We have an old fashioned baby gate right now to prevent our DS from climbing up our stairs but it's made it through 3 kids now and is falling apart! :( I'm like you, I'd LOVE one that swings open and I don't have to take down or climb over constantly.

I use one of the wooden cheap gates between our kitchen and family room, but the wear and tear of taking it up and down, as well as the dogs being rough on it, has taken it's tole... I think I'm on my 5th gate in 2 years already.

Well, our baby isn't here yet so this is all theoretical ;o)
So far we're doing the typical first-time parent thing and researching the heck out of any soap, cleaning products, car seats, crib mattresses, etc. to make sure we don't inadvertently use something that's potentially dangerous. We've also started keeping an inventory of things that will need to be babyproofed when the little bugger is mobile. This giveaway is perfect because we have a loooong flight of wooden stairs—Yikes!
