We Give Books Read for the Record Campaign

Literacy is perhaps one of the single most important gifts you can give a child and we here at the Crazy House firmly believe that. We Give Books is a fantastic online reading website with over 150 free digital books for children that were put together by the Pearson Foundation and Penguin Books.

The amazing part about We Give Books is that for every book that kids read online, the Pearson Foundation gives a BRAND NEW book to children in need. The more kids read online, the more children that are helped!!

Next Thursday, October 7th, We Give Books is lending its support to an incredible annual event: Jumpstart's Read for the Record Campaign!  More than 2 million people will take part in this national reading event which is designed to break the world record for the most people reading the same book on the same day!!

Around the country, in local reading events at schools, libraries, businesses, community organizations---and in countless numbers of family homes—people will focus on literacy and its importance in the lives of young people everywhere all day!!!!!

The day begins this year, as it has every year, on NBC’s The TODAY show. Next Thursday, please join the Crazy House in reading Ezra Jack Keat's The Snowy Day, this year’s official book of the Read for the Record Campaign.

If you own a copy of the book, please read it with a child in your life. If you don’t, it's available online Here!

Please spread the word to your friends, family, etc. The more people who read, the more books that get donated to children in need! If you are a fellow blogger, please share with your readers as well!
