Sorry!

I have had many emails from you all asking me if everything is ok. I know, I know. I have never went an entire weekend without posting but Thursday night/Friday morning around 3 a.m. my 5 year old woke me up with a fever, sore throat, headache........all that fun stuff. I got him into the Dr. that morning and we were told they believed it was some type of infection...they didn't run tests but they were leaning towards strep throat, pneumonia. etc. They went ahead and put him on an antibiotic and alternating Motrin and Tylenol every 2 hours. Josh has a history of febrile seizures...he had 3 before he hit the age of 2 so when my kids get a fever, I freak! He hadn't had a seizure since he was 18 months old though so I thought we were in the clear. About 4:30 Friday afternoon, he was on the computer playing a game and I was sitting on the couch feeding the baby when I watched him fall off of the chair and collapse onto the floor. I ran over to him and he was not responsive. He wasn't convulsing but was definitely having some type of silent seizure. I noticed his breathing was labored so we went ahead and called 911. His skin was very pale and he was burning up!

It took the ambulance over 15 minutes to get here. That's what you get for living in the country I guess. When they pulled my, my husband ran Joshua over to them and they put him in the ambulance immediately. He had to have oxygen. They took his temp and even after Motrin, his fever was still 104.2  Needless to say, it was an insanely scary night. We were at the ER and they ran tests. Positive for pneumonia. Funny being that he had never even had a cough!!!! They gave him meds through the IV to boost the other antibiotic that the pediatrician had given us earlier that day. We had to set alarms to get up and give him meds every 2 hours through the night to keep his fever down. It was a very long weekend. On top of that, our 8 year old had an all weekend soccer tournament.

SOooooooooooo, I'm back. I am working on getting caught up. Check back tonight and I will have a few giveaways and reviews up and something special I have been working on too hopefully!

Thanks for being great fans and for being concerned for us! It means a lot that you all really do care!

Oh your poor family! I hate when they get sick! They thought my youngest was having seizures when he had meningitis. It turned out to be just normal baby reflex. I was scared. I can't imagine how you must of felt seeing him on the floor. Hang in there! Take your time getting caught up on your blog. You too need a break sometimes!

Sick kids are the absolute worst!! I can't imagine how scary that would be. Last night my daughter was running in my husband's shoes and as she fell forward, I tried to catch her and she got a finger right in the eye! We're headed to the doctor this afternoon. Having kids is scary...every day! It's never ending! I hope your son feels better soon and things slow down a bit for you.

My 2 1/2 year old has had 2 febrile seizures. The first time my husband and I completely freaked out b/c we had no idea what was going on. The second one happened while I was waiting at the store with my sister and my 2 kids to get his prescription filled for strep throat. Horrible experience! I was actually pretty calm, but my sister was freaking out. I had to remind her to watch my baby for me while I was taking care of my 2 1/2 year old. Scary stuff! You are in my prayers, and here's hoping this is the last you have to see of those seizures!

WOw! I am sooo sorry you and your family had to go through that. I can't BELIEVE it took the Ambulance 15 freaking minutes to get there! I can't even imagine what could have happened in that time!!! That is completely uncalled for.
Well, I'm glad that your son is doing ok though. And thankfully the hospital finally ran tests on him and actually found out what was wrong! You can't treat something if you don't know what it is!

Well, I hope you guys are doing better and please don't ever feel bad or obligated to be here everyday. We know you have a family to care for. I admire you for finding the time to be on here and have such great giveaways for us. I only have one baby right now and its hard enough finding spare time with just her, you on the other hand have 4??!!

Your doing a Great job on taking care of your babies (and us LOL!) and I hope your family heals soon! {{HUGS}}

I just saw this, sorry to hear about that! I had never heard of febrile seizures but a fellow baseball mom friend of mine said it ran in her hubby's family and sure enough, one night her daughter had one. I think this is something the kids can grow out of, yeah? I'm so hoping things are going better for you now and the kiddos got to go trick or treating! Take care! :o)
