I'm a Chiquita Mom! Giveaway with 5 Winners!

I was super excited when I was recently contacted by Chiquita about being a Chiquita Mom! I figured since I live in a house full of monkeys and they all love bananas that it was a perfect fit!!  As a Chiquita Mom, I was sent a really cool kit that included all kinds of goodies like a Chiquita Mom shopping bag, dish set, baby bibs, freezer bags and even a coupon for free bananas!

The kit was also full of fun, healthy recipes to make with our kids and lots of fun tips to get the most of your bananas too! I didn't know you could freeze bananas but here is one of the fact sheets that was included in my kit!

Freeze Me for Later

If you notice bananas starting to get a little spotty, don’t throw them away! Freeze them. Frozen bananas are perfect for smoothies, shakes and baked treats. If you are using the frozen Chiquita bananas for baking, don't forget to thaw before using them!

Chiquita Banana Freezing Instructions

1. Peel your Chiquita banana

2. Cut or break into 4-6 pieces (to use as needed)

3. Place in freezer bag

4. Mark freezer bag with today’s date

5. Store in freezer (for 1-2 months)

6. Use as needed in one of your favorite Chiquita banana recipes

Fun Tip: Chiquita recommends using your frozen bananas within 30 days for baking and within 60 days for smoothies and frozen treats.

We also received really yummy recipes like Chiquita Banana Socials! We made these and they were a HUGE hit in our house!

Chiquita Banana Socials:

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 10 minutes

Servings: 5

Ingredients:■1 whole Chiquita Banana

■10 round, Baked crackers (regular or reduced fat)

■2 Tbsp. Honey

■1/4 tsp. Cinnamon

Cut Chiquita Banana into thin slices. Top crackers with Chiquita Banana slices. Drizzle with honey. Sprinkle with cinnamon.

Now you have a yummy, healthy snack for your next party or just for fun!

You can visit the Chiquita Mom Page for more fun recipes and fun facts!

We ALWAYS have bananas in our house ! My 12 yr old gets one in his lunch everyday, as do I. For a fun snack, they like to cut them up into thin slices and spray whip topping on them and maybe even top with a cherry.
Thanks!

My boys eat bananas any way they can get them! Their new thing is to put peanut butter in a bowl and dip the banana into it-I heard whispers of adding chocolate syrup as well but so far they are sticking with PBB (peanut butter & bananas!) lol I'm glad they like such healthy treats but I'd kind of like to try the chocolate option!

Awesome! Thank you for sharing this! I was actually just wondering the other day how long bananas are good for in the freezer. :) My daughter is 7 months old, so her favorite way to eat bananas is mashed up, mixed with rice cereal, all over her hands & face, up her nose & probably in her hair. Not to mention all over me, and in the tub or on the highchair. lol She loves bananas!!
