Holiday Gift Guide: Voyage Diaper Bag from 7A.M. Enfant Ends 12/14

A lot of women mistakenly believe that once they become a Mom, being fashionable is a thing of the past. Thankfully that is definitely NOT true, especially thanks to high-end, fashionable products like 7 A.M. Enfant offers!!

We received an awesome Diaper Bag from 7 A.M. Enfant called the "Voyage" and it has to among one of the best bags I have ever owned!!  How perfect would it be to wake up on Christmas morning with one of these under your tree?!  This would be a wonderful gift for a Mom or Mom-to-Be!!!

I am just in love with the Voyage!  I love how stylish and modern the bag itself is. I have received so many compliments on the Voyage and how hip it is!  I also love the matching clutch, eliminating my need to carry a 2nd bag for my stuff. The clutch is big enough for me to carry my necessities and I don't have to worry about digging around in the diaper bag to find things when I need them! Our baby doesn't take a bottle but we use the insulated bottle bag to keep his sippy cups and other snacks cool while we are out and about it and it works perfectly!!  The matching changing pad is a perfect fit inside the bag and has velcro to keep it folded and tucked away until you need it!  I have to say, the Voyage is a MUST HAVE for every Mama!!!

7A.M. Enfant also carries a range of other great products too!  I would love to have one of their Blanket 212 Evolutions!  These are some amazing blankets that can be used for your baby from infancy to preschool and they have the color that would match my new Voyage diaper bag perfectly!  They also carry modern and hip mittens, booties and hats and a nice variety of stroller and car seat blankets!

Tis the Season!

I have to tell you....while I love this time of year, it is one that I have also come to dread because of one thing. GERMS!  I am one of those crazy obsessive Mom's who does everything possible to keep my kids healthy. We always get our flu shots, I don't take my kids around people who I know have been sick....heck, when I was pregnant last year and the whole H1N1 thing was happening, I practically became a hermit. I actually almost passed out from waiting in line so long to get the flu shot!!!  So wouldn't you know, last weekend when we were out of town to my in-laws for Thanksgiving, my 8 year old son had a dreadful stomach bug. He started puking around 1a.m. and continued throughout the rest of the morning/day. Mind you, we had to leave to come home that same day. We brought a 2nd car home from my in-laws so we had to drive separate so my husband somehow got it easy and he only had our 7 year old daughter in the car with him. I ended up with the sick kid, the baby AND one wild and crazy 5 year old for a 3 hour drive!  I am still scratching my head trying to figure out how THAT happened. *lol*

I waited for days wondering if anybody else was going to get sick and shockingly, nobody did...until THANKSGIVING of course!!!  It started with my 5 year old who was actually a trooper. No vomiting at all...but the dreadful "other" stuff that goes along with stomach bugs. Then it hit ME and talk about wanting to just die! Our family had Rotovirus when Josh was a baby and it lasted over 10 days with 2 of our children ending up in the hospital and that didn't even come CLOSE to how awful this bug was.

I woke up feeling kind of sick to my stomach but didn't think much about it at first. About an hour after though, it hit me like a ton of bricks. It was hands down the worst feeling I have EVER had. When the feeling would hit, I would break out in a sweat, throw my clothes off, puke my living guts up and at one point, I even passed out in the hallway outside of the bathroom. This would be followed by freezing to death, having to get dressed, bundle up in a blanket and pass out until it hit again. I slept anywhere I would drop! I spent part of the day in bed, part on the couch, some in the hallway, I even slept in front of the toilet! (GROSS!)  My parents took the older 3 kids for the day and when they returned, my daughter had vomited on the way home and was running a fever. Luckily hers was shortlived, didn't involve any more puking and aside from still not being able to eat, it appears we are all on the mend. Well, all but hubby who thought he escaped it just to wake up this morning with it himself!  Come to find out, everybody we know has it! It's called the Norovirus and it shows no sympathy! I just pray the baby doesn't get it!!!

So yes, I am behind a little bit! Hang with me while I try to catch up!!!! Hope you all had a WONDERFUL holiday weekend and survived all the awesome Black Friday and Cyber Monday madness!

Holiday Gift Guide: The Classic Treasury of Childhood Wonders Giveaway 2 Winners! Ends 12/5

We have been blessed with children who love to read so we have our own Children's library in our home with 1000's of books for our children to choose from. Many times our children would rather sit down with a book than to play with toys so I am always on the lookout for quality books that I can share with them.

Award winning writer, educator and family advocate Susan Magsamen recently released a book called The Classic Treasury of Childhood Wonders which starts out with one of the most powerful thoughts I have ever heard. "If we take care of the moments, the years will take care of themselves."  I loved that so much that I made it my Facebook status when I read it!

About the Book:

Catching your shadow. Daydreaming. Banging pots. Dress-Up. In today’s fast-paced and over-scheduled world of carpools, activity spreadsheets and Nintendo DS, simple wonders of childhood -- and the special moments between parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles and the little ones they love -- are often lost. In Childhood Wonders, Susan masterfully blends a vintage design and feel with a collection of activities, poems, nursery rhymes and art that underscores her philosophy on the best ways to encourage learn-through-play experiences and create special memories to last a lifetime.

Divided into five sections that illuminate a child’s world and interests -- Magic and Make-Believe; Outdoor Exploring; Crafts and Construction; Yummy for the Tummy; and Bedtime, Bathtime, and Dreamtime -- Childhood Wonders is more than a great gift book. It gives families a tool to reconnect with childhood whimsy and explore the importance of learning through play. During this season of off-the-hook consumerism and more, more, more,Childhood Wonders is a unique and lasting gift for kids, families, new parents and grandparents.

This is a MUST HAVE book on every homes bookshelf! If you are looking for a great gift that will be enjoyed over and over again, consider The Classic Treasury of Childhood Wonders!!! For insant fun, games and crafts, visit the Susan Magsamen's Family Stories Website!

Holiday Gift Guide: Jemos eco-friendly Footwear Review & Giveaway Ends 12/6

You know by now about my love affair with shoes so when I was contacted by Jemos to do a review, I was a little more than excited. I was able to pick out a pair of shoes for my 9 month old and I was so excited when they arrived!

Just in time for the Holidays, we chose the Blake style!  These adorable brown shoes are perfect for casual wear or for special occasions!! They are made of hand-stitched leather uppers, interior lining AND a non-skid leather sole!!!  These shoes have a 4mm padded sole for comfort, extra cushioned ankles, plenty of extra toe space and velcro closures making them so simple to take them on and off.

About Jemos:

Jemos footwear was founded in 2008 as the original eco-friendly shoe line exclusively for infants and toddlers. Their mission– to design fun, fashion forward styles of footwear for eco-conscious consumers shopping for something stylish and earth-friendly. The result is a comfortable, hand sewn moccasin style shoe perfect for crawlers, first time walkers, and toddlers too!

Proudly designed in the heart of the Midwest, their shoes began as simple sketches at the breakfast table, turning into the real deal many months later. Their shoes are made using premium, hand chosen leather remnants (hint… good for the earth part!), making them buttery soft, yet totally ready to withstand your child's active feet. They also have breathable leather linings, a flat cushioned sole, and a comfy toe box to allow just enough wiggle space to keep them healthy!

The boy shoes were super cute but Jemos also has a super cute line of girl shoes as well! I loved the Taylor style and so wish I would have known about Jemos when my daughter was smaller!!

What we think:

We absolutely LOVE the baby boy shoes we received from Jemos!   With a little guy who is learning to walk, we have to ensure he has the best shoes on his growing and developing feet and we totally trust Jemos!  At a super price (All of the shoes on the website are priced under $30), I am so excited to get my sons next pair of shoes from Jemos!!!

Human Tribe Project

I receive a lot of emails every day from companies and organizations wanting me to share their products, services, etc. but I could never have enough time to share them all so I have to pick and choose and share the one's that I think our readers will enjoy and find the most interest in.

I am a huge fan of charitable work. I have spent virtually my entire life working with my family and organizations to reach out and help others who are in need so I was really touched when I received an email about The Human Tribe Project!

The Human Tribe Project allows you to set up a free Tribe page to help benefit someone you know who is in crisis. You can then share that page with your friends and family members who can rally around and support that person no matter what their need may be. The Human Tribe Project was founded upon the premise that all people belong to a larger Tribe comprised of their loved ones and acquaintances, and that this Tribe can be a powerful resource when one of its members is in need.

I love this for so many different reasons. I have always felt that if you have the resources to help others, you should, without hesitation. There have been so many times when I have done something very small for someone but they have come back and told me what a HUGE difference it made in their life. Something so tiny to us just might make all the difference in someone elses life.

How it works:

Human Tribe Project enables people to unite as Tribes and mobilize support quickly and easily through this website the instant that a loved one notifies them of a crisis. A Tribe Leader sets up a Tribe Page, on behalf of the Beneficiary, and includes the Beneficiary’s story and an explanation of why funds need to be raised. The Tribe Leader then unites friends and family by entering in their email addresses, thereby inviting them to join the Tribe.

Tribe Pages are used to keep the Beneficiaries and their Tribes connected. Each Tribe Page contains a blog, a guestbook, moveable web badges and an option to invite others to join the Tribe. Most importantly, Tribe Pages contain the Tribe Tag Store where Tribe Tags can be purchased to financially support the Beneficiary.

Each Tribe Page has both semi-public and private portions. The Beneficiary’s blog, guestbook and all posts are private and only viewable by invited Tribe Members. The Beneficiary’s picture and story and the Tribe Tag Store for each Beneficiary are public and viewable only when a person searches the Beneficiary’s name.

If you know someone in need, I encourage you to check out the Human Tribe Project at http://www.humantribeproject.com/ as I think this is a great way to show your support to those you love who may be in need!
