Kraft Veggie Pasta. Did it pass the Crazy House test?!

Like many of you, I have a list of blogs that I regularly follow. I like to follow other Mom blogs because other bloggers will often review products that we have not had the chance to try out yet and I will purchase those products based on their recommendations. That is why I will ALWAYS tell you the truth when I review a product! I know many of you purchase products based on MY recommendations and I would never want you to waste money on something that isn't worth the money.

Having said that, I have seen a lot of bloggers review Kraft Veggie Pasta so when I went grocery shopping this week, I grabbed a box and cooked it up with dinner last night!

Now, the idea of this pasta is to SNEAK veggies into it without the kiddos knowing it. Well, my kids must be EXTRA smart because the first thing my 9 year old said was, "Why is the macaroni a lighter color than usual?" *LOL* Oh he is too smart for his own good! So I just blew him off and gave everybody a serving on their plate. I was still in the kitchen when I hear my 9 year old again, this time he was talking to Daddy. "Daddy, the macaroni tastes funky, do you think so too?" Haha. So Daddy says, "Yep. I think so too." So then my 8 year old daughter Emma chimes in, "I think it's the most disgusting thing I have ever tasted." And my 6 year old Josh says, "I love this macaroni. I ate all of mine. Can I have more?!" So it wasn't  a total loss. Not only did Josh eat 2 helpings but our 17 month old, Aiden, also ate a heaping serving and I also liked it. So I guess maybe "sneaking" in the veggies only works on the wee little ones.

Now Kraft claims that this product tastes the same as their classic. That is NOT true. It's a lot more bland in comparison to the classic. But, if you eat this variety, you'll wind up getting half a serving of vegetables (the company freeze-dries cauliflower, pulverizes it, then mixes it along with flour to make the macaroni pasta).

You can see the difference in color between the two. I wonder if they used less cheese or if it is the cauliflower that makes it lighter?! I know it also calls for half the butter that the classic calls for.

I give it a B. I don't like cauliflower but I thought this stuff tasted decent and since 50% of the family liked it and ate it, I will probably buy it again! It's hard to get veggies in our little guy and he also refuses milk so this is a double win for him. Veggies and Calcium!

Have you tried it yet?
