Fresh Fruit Recipes

Generally when we are having a potluck, I will prepare a simple fruit tray with an easy fruit dip. I like making this simple, refreshing dip that uses Cool Whip, Marshmallow Fluff and Cream Cheese. You just take a package of each, mix them together and you're done. It's really cold and refreshing, perfect for Summer! I love the fruits that are available this time of year. Strawberries, Pineapples, Grapes, Watermelon. Mmmmmm.


A cold, fresh fruit tray with fruit dip will always be a staple at our barbecues but I recentsly found another fresh fruit recipe from Hormel Foods that we couldn't wait to try! Our kids love eating foods off a stick so I thought the Grilled Fruits recipe from Hormel would be perfect to try!!!

Grilled Fruits



Ingredients:

1 cup La Victoria® Thick 'n Chunky Salsa Verde Mild

1/4 cup jalapeƱo jelly

1 tablespoon lime juice

1 tablespoon butter, melted

Melon: slices or kabobs

Pineapple: slices or kabobs

Apples/Pears: slices, kabobs or halves

Papaya: kabobs or halves (remove seeds)

Directions

1.To make sauce, in blender container, combine salsa verde, jelly, lime juice and butter; process until smooth.

2.Prepare grill for low heat coals.

3.Prepare fruit by cutting into chunks for skewers, into 1/2-inch slices or in half to lay on grill rack or in grill basket.

4.Grill fruit, turning at least once and basting with sauce during last 5 minutes only (sauce can burn if grilled too long). Timing varies depending on fruit.

Melon: 10 minutes

Pineapple: 15 minutes

Apple/Pear: 10 minutes

Papaya: 15 minutes

I have to say. We made these on kababs with fresh fruits from the market and the kids loved the kabobs. They weren't a fan of the sauce but they gobbled the fruit up! The adults on the other hand thought the sauce was awesome!
