What a Day!

Have you ever had one of THOSE days?! Of course you have, we all have. I just seem to have more of THOSE days than most people. *lol* It started out good.....we didn't oversleep. Hubby got to work on time and the kiddos got off to school ok. Josh cried when he had to go get on the bus, again...but this is normal routine for us so it was nothing out of the ordinary. At 6 years old, I am determined that he just needs to learn how to be away from us even if he doesn't like it. His "But I miss you Mommy" breaks my heart but it's life and he has to learn I suppose.

So shortly after everybody left and it was just the baby and I, I decided to take a shower. When I went to get a towel, I realized that there were none clean because I hadn't done laundry for a few days. From where I was sick and then the baby got sick right after me, I had not been to the store and I was out of laundry detergent and with 6 people in our house, towels don't last long so I was forced to shower with one of Aiden's hooded baby towels. Funny, huh?!

So I get in the shower and realize that someone had knocked the cap off of MY shampoo and it had all run down into the drain. Every. Last. Drop. I went to grab my spare and apparently Emma has been using it because it was empty (grrrr) so my choices were between my hubby's manly smelling stuff or the kids. So I washed my hair with shampoo called Monkey Brains. No lie. It's a new shampoo the kids saw on the shelf at Wal-mart a few weeks ago and with a name like that, how could we pass it up?! I just never imagined I would be putting it on MY hair! ha!

And did I mention I turned 30 today?! Yea, let's keep that on the downlow. We don't want anybody knowing that I am getting OLD! Although, I don't really feel much older than yesterday except I sure am sleepy. Of course, maybe that's from the pitcher of Strawberry Daquiris I had after the kids went to bed last night. Hey, don't judge me. I can count on one hand how many drinks I have in an entire year. Of course, maybe that's because I spent most of my 20's either pregnant or breastfeeding. Turning 30 has been a scary deal for me....although now that it's here, it's all good. After all, that means that God gave me another year to live, right?!

So here I sit, relaxing and enjoying the last hour or so before the kids get off of the bus. It's been a cold, rainy dreary day here in Ohio and Drew and Emma both have soccer games tonight and Josh has his first Cub Scout meeting. Can you say FUN TIMES?!

Oh yea, by the way..........we have some really great giveaways coming up in the next couple of weeks so make sure you are linked up with us so you don't miss anything. You can subscribe to email updates from us and definitely follow us on Facebook!  A lot of the stuff would make great gifts for the Holidays and it is NEVER too early to start thinking about that! I already have a secret closet full of great buys that I have found over the past couple of months!  I am an online shopping addict these's no wonder Josh thinks the Fed Ex man is my boyfriend. Ahhhh. Gotta love kids.

Have a great day!

  1. Mica cried yesterday when my husband dropped him off early for breakfast. He has to. Otherwise Isaak will be late for preschool. It's only once a week. I felt bad though! My sweet little kindergartener! I thought Mica was my outgoing child, lately he's shy. Isaak was shy, and his preschool teachers said he was chatty! Something must be in the air!

About the shower, I was laughing!

You're 30, I'm 35. If you are old then I am really old.

  2. Aww! That is quite a day! You deserve another pitcher of Daquiris! LOL I had a crazy day myself!

  3. Geesh...and I thought my day was bad!! LOL

  4. Happy Belated Birthday!! Hope it's a great year for you!

  5. Sounds like you need to say "Calgon Take Me Away!

I love comments!! Thanks for taking the time!
