As a Mom of 4, I would have to say that there is no question in the Puppies vs. Babies debate. Babies are way cuter in my opinion!! I mean, looking at my 20 month old, I can't imagine any puppy being cuter than him! He can dance, he can sing and his little face melts my heart!  He has this thing that he does where he puckers out his lip and it is possibly the cutest thing I have ever seen....and he knows he can totally get his way with that face!!!  I have never heard a pupppy who can say "mama" and totally make my day!!  I can think of a lot of cute puppies but no puppy could ever compare to my baby!!!  What do you think? Is there even any question about it Mamas?!

One last Halloween Treat......Them Bones!

I thought the little Gobblin Fingers were the cutest thing I had ever seen...until I saw the Them Bones dish on the Hormel Foods site!!! This is going to be the biggest hit at the party I am sure!!!

Them Bones

Ingredients:

2 (15-ounce) cans Hormel® Chunky Chili No Beans, any variety

1 (8-ounce) can refrigerated breakstick dough

Directions

1.Heat chili according to package directions in microwave or on stovetop. Place chili in small black bowl for "witch's cauldron."

2.Heat oven to 350ºF.

3.Cut each strip of dough lenghtwise in half. Shape dough into 16 "bones" of various sizes. Place on baking sheet.

4.Bake breadsticks 5 to 8 minutes or until crisp. Serve "bones" around chili "cauldron" for dipping.

Your guests will LOVE LOVE LOVE Them Bones! How super fun is this dish?!?!

Bewitching Hot Pepperoni Cheese Dip

Hormel Foods hasn't forgotten about the biggest holiday in October-Halloween! Check out this recipe for Bewitching Hot Pepperoni Cheese dip! It will have you howling for more!!

Bewitching Hot Pepperoni Cheese Dip

Ingredients:

1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese with chives and onion

1 (3.5-ounce) package Hormel® Pepperoni, finely chopped

1/2 cup milk

1/4 cup finely chopped green onions

2 tablespoons diced red bell pepper

2 tablespoons CHI-CHI'S® Diced Green Chilies

1 1/2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese

Notes

1.Makes 1 3/4 cups.

Directions

1.In small saucepan, combine first 6 ingredients. Cook over over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, 4 to 5 minutes or until cream cheese is melted. Stir in shredded cheese. Cook, stirring constantly, 3 to 5 minutes longer or until cheese is melted.

2.Serve warm dip with cut-up fresh vegetables or breadsticks.

Sounds frightfully YUMMY!

Playtex Baby Sippy Cup 101 Party Recap Giveaway Ends 11/7

Last night we had our Playtex  Baby Sippy Cup 101 party and I could not be more happy with the results!  I love the opportunity to get together with other Mom's and we had a GREAT  time!!!  Transitioning to a sippy cup can be quite a task but I believe we learn by sharing with each other and I am really glad that we had a group of Mom's that were willing to talk and share about their experiences.  I wanted things to be as relaxed and as informal as possible and I feel like everybody was comfortable and had a good time.

Playtex hooked us up with some AWESOME goodies for the party too!!!  We were all looking forward to checking these awesome cups out!!!

When everybody arrived, we did quick introductions while the kids played. We couldn't have asked for a better group of children!!!  There were 11 kids playing together and most fell into the 1-2 year old range so the fact that everything was nice and peaceful was quite shocking to me! All of the kids were AWESOME and gave the Mom's plenty of time to talk and learn together.

We did a lot of talking at first and it was great for me to hear from other Mom's. I thought it was especially funny that when we spoke about milestones that we were looking forward to, we all had the same things in mind: No more bottles, sleeping through the night, potty training and getting them to sleep in their own beds!!!  It was great to talk to other Mom's who understand what we are going through with our own toddler!  We don't have bottles in the house but we are dealing with potty training and sleeping issus! It was also great to hear the other Mom's give their best advice regarding Motherhood. We heard everything from "Trust your instincts" to "Cherish them while they are young because they grow so fast." My best advice was that we should always respect other Mom's parenting decisions.  We all do what is best for our children and what works for one might not work for another but we should still respect and support each other regardless if we agree or not.

So after we got to know each other and got more comfortable talking together, we got into the Sippy Cup 101!!!  We played a game in which the Mom's had to match the picture of each sippy cup to the clue's given. I especially liked this game because it was an opportunity to talk about the features that each of the cups have.  There were 6 cups that we talked about and each one has unique features that help you determine which cup is best for your child!  Nobody got them all right but a couple mom's got 4 out of 6....not so bad!!!  After the game, we gave out all the goodies so the Mom's could try the cups out and then we just sat around and chatted while the kids played and ate snacks!!!  We had a great conversation about what we expected out of a sippy cup and it was unanimous!!  We all agreed that they must be easy to clean and leak proof!!! 

We also talked about some of Dr. Sears Do's and Dont's which I felt were really helpful!  Our youngest baby was 7 months old and she will just be starting a sippy cup very soon so I think the tips along with the cups that she received should be very helpful! The  Playtex® The First Sipster® cup should be a great start for her as well!!  If you are just starting to give your baby a cup, I would definitely recommend this one!!  It has handles for those little hands to grasp and a soft spout for your baby's sensitive gums!  We had another little guy who was 11 months old and I think this one would be a good one for him too! 

I gave my 20 month old the Playtex Lil" Gripper Spoutless Cup last night and it was priceless trying to watch him try to figure out where to put his mouth. He was licking all over the lid and looking at me like "Is this some kind of joke?!" This cup is intended for bigger kids who are outgrowing their regular sippy cups so I guess we will put this one away for awhile until he is a little bit bigger and can figure out how to use it. He really likes the straw cups right now so we have been experimenting with the First Lil Gripper Straw Trainer Cup and the Lil Gripper Straw Cup!  I especially love that these come with the slider so that the straw stays covered when it's not in use! This is awesome because I tend to stick sippy cups in my purse and my diaper bag and this way I don't worry about leaks!

I was extremely happy with our Playtex Sippy Cup 101 Party and I am looking forward to continuing the use of our new sippy cups and transitioning to some of the others in the future!  Thanks to all of the Mom's who took time out of their evening to attend and share with us!!!

We absolutely LOVED this movie.  It starts out in the beginning with Junior beating on everything in sight with drumsticks and it reminded me of my own little guys. Why is it that every little boy wants to be a drummer?!  So Junior is drumming away and listening to his head phones which causes him to miss out on caroling with his friends.  Trying to cheer him up, his Grandpa sits him down and tells him a story which leads into this great movie. Not only does it capture a lot of the real Christmas story but it also teaches a lesson of forgiveness....not just forgiveness of others but also of God's forgiveness to us. I can't say enough good things about this one and I am very happy to add it to our collection, especially for this time of year!!!

And what did I think?!?!?!

 I just love a good pair of gloves and the Agloves appeared to be a pretty great pair when I first put them on. They fit perfectly, they were warm and comfy and I love the color but I was mostly curious if I would actually be able to use my touch screen devices while wearing them. I put them to the test and I have to say....I am very impressed.  I am a texting maniac and I normally would have to take my gloves off to do so but not with the Agloves!  They worked like a charm, keeping my hands nice and cozy!  I was also able to use my other touch screen devices without any problem at all.  So not only are they stylish and functional but they actually do what they say they are going to do. SCORE!

Halloween Pizza!!!

I love recipes that allow you to use your creativity and when I let the kids help, things definitely get a little crazy around here. Looking for an awesome Halloween recipe to spook things up? Check out this new one from Hormel Foods!

Halloween Pizza

Ingredients:

1 fajita-size flour tortilla

1/4 cup shredded pizza cheese blend

10 slices Hormel® Pepperoni

2 (1-ounce) slices processed American or Cheddar cheese

2 (1-ounce) slices processed Swiss cheese

Directions

1.Heat oven to 350ºF.

2.Sprinkle tortilla with shredded cheese. Top with pepperoni. Place pizza on baking sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until cheese is melted and pepperoni is crisp.

3.Meanwhile, with miniature cookie cutters, cut cheese slices into Halloween shapes. Place on pizza. Bake 1 to 2 minutes or until heated thoroughly.

If you don't like those toppings, try swapping them out for different things! You can find all kinds of things to go on top of this yummy treat!

Goblin Dipping Sauce with Finger Sticks

I have seen some really cute Halloween recipes in the past couple of weeks but OMG! The new one I just found at Hormel Foods beats them all! These are sooo cool and my kids are LOVING them!!

Goblin Dipping Sauce with Finger Sticks

Ingredients:

1 (11-ounce) can refrigerated breadstick dough

12 slices Hormel® Pepperoni

1 package dried rosemary leaves

1 cup pizza sauce

1/2 cup Hormel® Pepperoni, diced

1/4 cup diced onion

1/4 cup diced green bell pepper

1 clove garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Notes

1.Makes 1 1/2 cups sauce.

Directions

1.Heat oven to 375ºF.

2.Separate dough into 12 strips. On large baking sheet, lay dough strips flat.

3.Cut ends of 12 slices pepperoni into fingernail shape. Push pepperoni fingernail into end of each breadstick to resemble finger. Cut small "knuckle" marks in each breadstick. Sprinkle knuckles with rosemary.

4.Bake breadsticks 13 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.

5.Meanwhile, in small saucepan, stir together remaining ingredients. Cook over medium heat until hot. Serve sauce with warm breadsticks

 

Not only are these totally cute but they are completely yummy...although, we had a hard time getting them to look as good as the one's in the picture from the website!! *LOL* Maybe next year we will get the technique down a little better. Practice makes perfect!

Fraidy Cat Cheeseball

I love all of the recipes from Hormel Foods for football and tailgating but Halloween is just around the corner so I have to share some of the awesome Halloween recipes that Hormel has on their recipe site!!!  These will definitely have your guests wanting more and they look super cool!

Fraidy Cat Cheeseball

What you need:

1 (10-ounce) prepared cheeseball

1 (8-ounce) package Hormel® Pepperoni

1 package pretzel sticks

1 slice Cheddar cheese

1 cherry tomato, cut in half

1 stufffed green olive, cut in half

Directions

1.Place cheeseball in center of serving plate. Scoop mouth from front of cheeseball head. Cut slits in sides for ears. Place pepperoni in scooped-out mouth; insert in side slits for ears. Insert pretzel sticks thickly into top of cheeseball for spiky hair.

2.Cut cheese slice into squares to make teeth. Place tomato halves on top for eyes. Top tomato halves with olives for "popping" eyes. Serve with crackers

 

How stinkin cute is that?!?!?!  Looks good enough to eat too!
