Weight Loss Motivation Jars

I spend a lot of time on the internet and subsequently I see a lot of great ideas. I can't remember where I was at but I recently saw a really cool idea for tracking weight loss.....motivation jars! Anybody can make these and you can use any type of see-through container. You just mark one with "Pounds to go" and another "Pounds lost" and you use some kind of counters to track your progress. For instance, if I want to lose 40 pounds, I would put 40 marbles into the "Pounds to go" jar. As I lose each pound, I would transfer a marble over to the "Pounds lost" jar. What a great visual motivator! Thanks to hotmessprincess.com for this awesome idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't wait to make some of these! What an awesome idea!! What motivator do you use to help keep you on track???

  5. Thank you for posting this! These are actually my motivation jars/marbles that I posted on my blog site at www.hotmessprincess.com :-) I'm working my way through a total weight loss of 219 pounds...that's why there are so many marbles in that first jar! LOL. I've lost 27 lbs in 3 months and am going strong. Pop on over and say hi...I can use all the support I can get. Glad y'all like this idea!

  7. Use pennies instead. When you hit your goal, pay yourself $1 for each penny in your Pounds Lost jar. Then go out and spend the money on a fun reward.

  9. Fantastic idea. It would be great to use quarters or golden dollars if you can find them an then when you lose all your weight you could buy a new outfit or a few depending on how much weight you have to lose!

  10. This is a really neat little trick. I've found another easy way to maintain motivation is to simply develop habits that altogether promote a healthy lifestyle. That's the only way to achieve permanent weight loss, and it's fundamental to every truly successful weight loss strategy. In fact, check out the following article which does a wonderful job of explaining the key factors in an effective, long-term weight loss strategy: fatfreeme.net/big5
