It's been another week of following the Nutrisystem plan and I have to say, I am pretty proud of myself. This was a rough week filled with a lot of stress which normally would knock me off of the diet wagon but I was really determined to stay strong and keep on truckin' and that is exactly what I did. Sometimes life can be super busy and that makes it really hard to stick to a plan but I have learned that planning ahead is the key! We might have baseball games every night of the week but if I plan ahead I can still eat right and get my workouts in without stressing. I knew that we have a busy schedule this summer so when I re-ordered my food for the new month, I ordered a lot of bars that I can grab on the go! My favorite lunch bar is the Trail Mix bar because it gives me a lot of energy to keep moving. I have also learned that you can fit a workout in pretty much anywhere if you think outside of the box! With all of the baseball games, I was wondering how I was going to manage work outs but then I got to thinking. Our boys have to be at their games/practices at least 30 minutes early and what better time to put the baby in the stroller and get moving! I can get a good, solid 30 minute walk/jog in rather than just sitting and waiting for the game to start so that has been a big plus. Sometimes I will do that even if I have already worked out for the day because that's an easy way to get some extra calories burned.
I did a new workout this week that really killed my legs. It was full of squats and lunges and the next day I felt like I couldn't walk. It was terrible! So I had decided I wasn't going to be able to workout until my legs felt better and that's when my 7 and 10 year old sons started saying, "Come on Mom, we will run too!" And that's all the motivation I needed. My 10 year old ran 4 miles that day and my 7 year old and I each ran 2 miles. It felt so good to hear them encourage me and want to help me so much that they were willing to do it right along beside me to help me. Talk about a good feeling! Sometimes you just have to fight through the pain if you want those results at the end of the week. Sure you can sit and choose not to but boy do I feel good when I choose to get up and do it! My energy levels soar and I feel so great about myself! This week I lost 3 pounds which is SO awesome! My weekly goal will continue to be 2 pounds but I will surely won't complain about losing 3!!! Be sure to check back later this weekend for my 1st Nutrisystem video blog!
