When I was little, I remember my mom used
to give me vitamins in the morning before I went to school. I always thought of
them sort of like a candy treat that I didn’t have to feel guilty about eating,
while my mother, of course, was more worried about what the pediatrician was
saying! Nowadays I’m thinking about how to fill the gaps in my sons’ nutrition
(mother of two boys! 3 and 5), especially since my oldest, Vince, has taken up
soccer. He’s getting so into it that he really runs himself ragged!
So about the soccer! I’ve been told that
milk is a good hydrator (others tell me otherwise, but that’s sort of true
about everything in nutrition), so I thought I’d try to find some infused milk,
like with extra calcium or something, and came across probiotic supplements.
This was kind of new to me. I think most of
us have heard of yoghurts with special bacterial cultures in them that regulate
digestion. But it turns out that good bacteria have all sorts of benefits and
that these cultures might not be present in everyone in the right quantities
unless you’re eating the right stuff. Bio-K+ has a selection of these milk based supplements in a few
different flavours so I thought I’d try it out. Both of my sons love those
drinkable strawberry flavour yoghurts and BioK+ has a strawberry flavoured
supplement, so I thought I’d give that a shot.
Well, I love them almost as much as my kids
love them! It really reminds me of the vitamins, the children really think of
it as a daily treat.

I have never tried them- will check them out. We use Probiotic powder mix but the kids might love these!
I've never tried them, but I have always wondered about probiotics :O)
We love Probiotics here! It helped so much for my son when he was a baby!
This product sounds more appetizing than the powdered probiotics. I stopped using them because I didn't like the taste. Thanks for sharing!
I have never used Probiotics before, but after reading this post...I'm very interested! (:

I used an infant probiotic with my son for a brief period when he was a newborn because we had thrush. It definitely helped. Since then, I haven't really used them, but I really want to learn more!
This is definitely new information to me. I have heard of probiotics, but only in regard to the yogurt. Gotta look into this.
I've never really paid attention to probiotics, but I think I should start :o
