I grew up with three sisters so baby dolls were abundant in our house. I often thought of getting older and having a little girl of my own so I could spoil her with all of the baby dolls she could ever dream of having. When Emma was born, I was elated and she had her first baby doll before she ever even made her grand entrance into this world. Even now as she gets older, it makes me SO happy when I walk into her room and see her playing with dolls instead of on some electronic device. This is why I was thrilled to learn about the Gotz Line from HABA! Gotz, the beloved luxury German doll maker, now has products available in the U.S. with the most extensive assortment of Gotz dolls and accessories that we have ever seen.
First of all, I love the story on this fantastic brand. In 1950, Marianne Gotz handcrafted dolls while her husband, Frank, would sell them from a wagon that he pulled with his bike. Six decades later, the second generation of Gotz family members is running the show and now they have teamed up with Haba to sell their products to American children aged 3 and up. For generations, Gotz dolls have been known for their extraordinary hair, sculptured faces, trendy clothing and soft fabric or vinyl bodies. Their superior quality and design remains a favorite of doll lovers and collectors today.
One of our favorite features of the Gotz dolls is that their hair can be washed, styled and brushed just like their owner's hair. I think this is why the Gotz dolls are appealing to older girls just as much as they are to younger girls. Our daughter absolutely loves styling her doll, Muffin's, hair! You can probably imagine her excitement as well when I shared with her that there was a YouTube Channel from HABA where she could learn some super cute techniques for fixing her doll's hair from everything from braids to cornrows!
Our other favorite feature is that you can actually put these dolls in the washing machine when a spot treatment just won't do the trick. (All except the standing dolls which should not be washed this way because of their size) If little Muffin gets a little too dirty, we can just toss her in a pillowcase, wash her in cold water on the delicate cycle and then lay her flat to dry. They also have their Aquinis line where you can choose a doll that is anatomically correct (or not!) and they can play in the bath with your child! Some of them can even drink and use the potty which I think is awesome. These dolls have won multiple awards and it's no wonder because they are seriously awesome!
Your daughter will absolutely be delighted to receive one of the amazing baby dolls from the Gotz Line. Check them out on the HABA website!
One lucky reader is going to win their choice of doll from the Gotz line (excluding the standing dolls)
