Teaching Kids to Count with Shelby's Snack Shack Game

*Thanks to Educational Insights for providing us with the product to use to facilitate this review*

We all want to give our kids the best head start in life as possible which means teaching them life skills at an early age. Aiden will be heading off to preschool in the Fall of this year so we have been working hard preparing him for some of the things he will be learning this year. One of those things is counting. With a 3 year old, you don't get their attention very long so sitting and teaching them how to do something usually isn't very effective but if you can find a way to make it fun, you can hold their attention much longer and the lesson usually sticks a lot better too. We had the opportunity to try out a new game from one of our favorite companies, Educational Insights, and we were so excited when it arrived!

Shelby's Snack Shack Game is one of the coolest ways to teach your little one to count. Setup is super easy. You use the inside of the box that looks like a beach to put the 40 bones that come with the game. Players take turns spinning the two spinners for a chance to win the most bones. If you land on the seagull, you must return some of your bones to the beach or you might even lose a turn if you are caught chewing a flip flop!

Our 3 year old absolutely loves using the doggy squeezer to pick up and count bones into his dish.  I can't believe how much his counting skills have increased just in the past 2 weeks of playing this game!

Shelby's Snack Shack is available on Amazon. I seen it as low as $15 which is a steal for such a great game.

If you hurry up, you still have a few days to enter the Educational Insights Bow-Wow Meow Photo Contest. You have until June 15 to enter HERE. Think your pooch or kitty has what it takes? Upload your most adorable cat or dog photo for a chance to win a copy of the game they are developing and the chance to make an appearance in the game!
