Motor Oil Matters $50 Gift Card Giveaway

*We received a gift card from Motor Oil Matters to use for our next oil change in exchange for this post. All opinions are our own*

Summer is in full swing which means millions of people have been on the roads traveling.  Auto maintenance is super important to avoid travel breakdowns and ensuring quality motor oil is in your car is one way to prevent your next road trip from going sour. Motor Oil Matters, AKA MOM, is a new consumer education and industry watchdog program by the American Petroleum Institute and has been established to stress the benefits of quality licensed motor oils and to call out those who engage in deceptive practices.  Discounts are always nice but not when it means your service provider is pouring low-quality motor oil into YOUR engine!  The last place you want to be is on the side of the road on the way to your next vacation so MOM is helping us become more educated on motor oil and why it matters.

We know all about problems on the road. Over Christmas break, we took off from Ohio and traveled to Florida for a Disney vacation with my in-laws. On our way home, our van started to give us trouble and we ended up stopping way sooner than we had thought we would because we were worried that we were going to get stranded in the mountains in Tennessee! We had planned on having the van looked over before we hit the road but the holidays had us so busy that we ran out of time. We learned a valuable lesson and that is auto maintenance is of utmost importance, especially if you are going to be traveling thousands of miles with your family! Luckily we made it home safe and sound without breaking down but we sure dodged a bullet on that one!

I will be honest. Car maintenance is normally my husband's job because he knows how quickly I could be taken advantage of seeing as how I know nothing about cars. That's all about to change thanks to the MOM Checklist that I was given to take on my next trip to the garage.  Thanks to MOM, I can now walk into my service provider with confidence that I am getting the best service possible! I am looking forward to taking my van for an oil change in the next couple of weeks and actually knowing what questions I should be asking and what things I should be checking for.

MOM would like to give one lucky reader a $50 gift card! Take this along with the checklist to your next oil change to show your service provider that you too, believe that Motor Oil Matters!
