Office Depot Foundation Celebrates 13 Years With Their National Backpack Program

A new backpack and school supplies are synonymous with a new school year but sadly, many families cannot afford these items. In response, The Office Depot Foundation and its National Backpack Program has provided over 2.9 million backpacks to children around the world in the past 12 years. This year, to mark the 13th anniversary of the program, the Office Depot Foundation will donate 300,000 backpacks with essential school supplies to children in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Internationally.  It really makes my heart happy to see corporations doing their part to make a difference in the lives of children.

This year the collection includes six different sackpacks with kid-friendly graphics. The bags do not have any logo's or markings on them other than the adorable designs.  Each sack comes with a zippered pouch that contains a pen, pencil, pencil sharpener, eraser, ruler and crayons.

We received a sampling of the bags and I am certain that any child would be thrilled to receive one of these sackpacks for school.  Visit the Office Depot Foundation Facebook page or follow them on Twitter @OfficeDepotFndn for more information on this amazing program!
