Why Choose Hardwood Flooring For Your Home?

When we were in search of a new home last year, we had a list of things we were looking for. One of those things were hardwood floors. There is just something I love about a home with hardwood flooring. If you choose the right ones, they can really add a lot of warmth and style to your home and can last you a lifetime. If you have been considering flooring in your home, here are some of the benefits of hardwood flooring brought to you by Wood Floor Surbiton

Durability: Hardwood flooring should last forever when  maintained properly.  When choosing hardwood flooring, be sure to choose a high quality wood that is going to outlast your family. Remember you usually get what you pay for. Don't skimp by buying the cheapest product on the market. You want it to last so invest in the best.

Variety: There are tons of different options for hardwood flooring to match your style and personality. You can choose every color variation from light to dark and the number of stains available is astonishing. If you aren't sure what the colors will look like, make sure you ask for samples done on real floors, not just the color on the front of the can.

Healthier: Hardwood floors do not trap nearly the number of allergens that you will see in carpet. If you have a family that is prone to allergies, hardwood flooring is a great option to reduce the amount of dust and pollen in your home.

Easy to Clean: Few flooring options are easier to clean than hardwood floors.  Most of the time a simple sweep with a dust mop does the trick. You can also use a vacuum with a hard floor attachment and this is a great way to thoroughly clean your floors. If your floors get dirty, there are a lot of great, inexpensive cleaners on the market just for hardwood flooring. If something gets spilled onto the floor, cleanup is a breeze with a dry cloth.

Home Value: Hardwood flooring actually increases your homes value. Many families today are looking for homes with hardwood flooring because they are easy to maintain and they last a lifetime. They are a bigger expense in the beginning but in the long run they are a more economical option because they won't have to be replaced or re-installed. If your wood floors do get looking rough after time, they can be easily refinished to look brand new again.

I can't find a single thing negative to say about our hardwood floors except that because we have an older house, sometimes the floors creak which drives me insane when I am trying to tiptoe through the house and not wake anyone up. Other than that, we love them! I love that I can style them up with beautiful rugs and decor and we get so many compliments when we have guests over. If you are considering new flooring for your home, hardwood flooring is a great option for nearly every family.
