I almost had a heart attack when I received several emails this week about my Holiday Gift Guide for 2013. Our kids haven't even gone back to school yet and I had not intended on even thinking about the holidays until well after Labor Day but it just seems like the holiday season starts earlier and earlier every year. One of the emails I received was asking me to poll my readers on what they think women will want for Christmas this year so I have compiled a list of some of the top picks from last year. What do you think? Are these things you would like to receive or would you rather have something else that we didn't list?
Makeup: I love makeup but I'm not sure how well my husband could pick out quality makeup for me. If you are going to try and purchase your lady makeup this year, it would be best to purchase her a nice set that has multiple colors and products in it rather than trying to pick and choose makeup products. Unless you are really savvy and know what colors she wears, then feel free to knock yourself out.
Gift Cards: You really can't go wrong with gift cards. If you struggle to find a gift for someone special in your life, although gift cards are a little less personal, at least you know it's something she will be able to use.....that is, unless you get her a gift card to the Bass Pro Shop!
Jewelry: You really can't go wrong with jewelry. You can go to any fine jewelry shop and find a gift for just about any woman on your list and if you don't feel like going out, you can shop online at places like Fragments! I love receiving jewelry from my husband and these are always pieces that I cherish. Pearls, sapphires and diamonds always make me happy!
Clothes: It really surprises me how many women would like to get clothes as a gift. Take this advice from me. If you are going to buy someone clothes, make sure you know what size they wear before you hit the stores. Last year my husband bought me a size small shirt (I wear a large) and he bought me panties that were 3 times my size. I kid you not. I didn't know whether I should laugh or cry. This could potentially be a disastrous gift so be careful and know the size before you buy.
Tickets: I have always secretly hoped that my husband would get me some kind of tickets every year during the holidays. It would be amazing to get tickets to the opera or even to watch our favorite football team. Just make sure you are getting her tickets to something she will enjoy. If she hates sports, going to watch YOUR favorite football team in the middle of Winter is probably not something she will enjoy.
Is it too early to be thinking about the holidays?! I hope not because we will be compiling our Holiday Gift Guide very soon. If there's something you think should be in our guide this year, feel free to shoot us an email!
