Updating Your Office Space

Updating your office space can be a lot of work but when you spend much of your day in one place, you need it to functional and enjoyable. We are in the middle of updating our own home office right now and it has been a lot of work but as it comes together, we are finding that it is a worthwhile investment. We have already updated the paint color from a dark red to a neutral gray and we are getting ready to tackle the flooring which is going to be the biggest part of the job. Below you will find some tips on making your office space a place where you won't mind spending a lot of your time!

*Choose a color that suits your personality and work environment. I prefer warm colors that help me relax and keep me calm, even on a stressful work day. If you have a smaller workspace, you will want to consider a lighter color as this will help the room appear larger.

*Choose flooring that suits your space. If your office is in a high traffic place like ours, you will want to choose a more heavy duty flooring that can take a lot of wear and tear. Places like Carpet Connections can help you find exactly what you are looking for based on your needs.

*Invest in quality furniture. I was experiencing major back issues just a few months ago and after a lot of brainstorming, I realized it was my office chair that was the culprit. When you are spending several hours  a day sitting in a chair, you need to make sure it's one that is giving your body the support it needs.

*Make sure you have all of the things you need to stay organized and tidy. There is nothing I dread more than working in an office with stacks of paperwork laying all over. It makes me feel overwhelmed and it deters me from working. Use file cabinets to keep things tucked away neatly and so they can easily be found when you need them again. I also recommend a desk tray to keep the things you are actively working on while still keeping them neat and tidy. There is NO such thing as too much storage space!

*Consider the lighting in your office to avoid eye strain.  I prefer to keep my work space bright and inviting to help me stay alert while I work. Consider desk lamps in addition to ceiling lights. I work all hours of the day and night so it's important for me to be able to work, even when it's dark outside.

*Accessorize. Don't skimp on things like art and decor. You deserve to have a space that you love to be in and enjoy looking at. Invest in high quality window treatments and decor and make sure you add something personal as well. I love to have a picture of my family on my desk to remind me why I am working in the first place.

We have a ways to go for our own office makeover but I can already tell a huge difference by just changing the paint and decor and getting a more functional desk and chair. We also updated the lighting from an old ceiling fan to a beautiful modern ceiling light that made a huge difference.  I will make sure I share pictures when we are all done!

Apart from home, we should also take some extra care of our office. So that, we can easily create more space. An office is a place where, we spend our half of day, so it should be comfortable and have good attractive interiors. Updating an office means, we should renovate the complete infrastructure with attractive design and interior, color and many others. From this article, we can get a complete overview on updating an office and how to do it. Thanks for such a wonderful sharing.
