Watching the news makes me sadder every day. Seeing some of the things going on in different parts of the world just breaks my heart, especially when it involves children. Sometimes it seems like the U.S. is in terrible shape but to see what people in other countries are going through is just unfathomable to me. Among the worst to me has to be what is going on in Syria. Every time I see something come up on the news, my heart literally feels like it's being yanked out of my chest. These people aren't just going without basic essentials but they are dying. Their homes are gone, they have nowhere to run and as a parent, my heart just breaks for these families.
I know we are clear across the globe but there are things that we here can do to help. Over one million children have been forced to flee from Syria and small donations from us can help provide them with the essentials they need to live. Most of these families have had to leave everything they own behind which means they are traveling with only the clothes on their backs. Donations to Unicef can provide these families with clothing, blankets, food and educational supplies as they try to piece their lives back together.
This holiday season, please consider making a donation to help the over 2 million people who have had to flee their country. Their lives have been turned upside down but we can help. One person cannot do everything but everyone can do something and that is how we make our world a better place to live.
