Why Your Tap Water Might Look Dirty

It can be really annoying if you turn on the tap to get a drink of water and it looks dirty and unappetising. Generally, water is one of the best fluids you can choose to drink but you are not going to want to if you are faced with a glass of a disgusting looking cloudy fluid. Aside from this you also need to make sure that the water you drink is safe. Depending on the reason for the dirty appearance, this may not be the case.
We are going to discuss why the tap water in your home may look dirty, We are also going to talk about a reverse osmosis water filterand its benefits.
Why tap water is sometimes dirty
There can be several reasons why the water that comes out of your taps has a dirty appearance.
• It has picked up dirt travelling along the pipes to your home.
• There is a problem with the pipework in your property.
• The water company is carrying out work on the supply system.
All of these circumstances can cause your water supply to change colour. The water may not be dangerous to drink but there is a chance that any contamination can lead to problems such as an upset stomach for those who drink the water. For instance, if the water company is carrying out work they may post a note through your advising you to boil the water before drinking it.
How can a reverse osmosis water filter help?
There are several types of filtration used in the various water filters on the market; reverse osmosis is one of the most popular. In this type of filtration system a semi permeable membrane is the main feature. Let's take a look at what happens in an under sink filtration system that uses reverse osmosis.
The first stage of the process is the filtration of items such as sand and dirt by an initial filter. In some systems there are more initial filters present. The water then passes through the membrane which clears it of contaminants. After this step, the water is stored in a tank. It then passes through a final filter before being delivered to you via a tap that is situated on the sink top.
The contaminants which have been removed from the water travel down a separate line to the drains in your home.
This is a simple but effective process that helps you maintain a clean supply of water. If the water that comes from your tap is cloudy you should always investigate the cause. If there is a problem with the pipework in your home you need to make sure it's resolved. In the meantime, if you have a water filtration system in place, any additives that have made their way into your water supply should be removed. You are left with water that is safe, appetising to look at and good to taste.

I love comments!! Thanks for taking the time!
